Cooling Tower Refurbishment – London

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Problem: BAC VXT N310 cooling tower at a 5 star hotel in London was in poor condition due to corrosion.

DSW’s cost-effective solution: Our in-house team completed a pre-disinfection of the tower. Removed and disposed of the drift eliminators and internal packing. Removed the previous coating and raised to a suitable profile for polyurethane coating, stripped back all corrosion to steel, and sealed all overlapping steel joints. Then a corrosion primer was applied, followed by two coats of polyurethane. We also replaced all spray nozzles and grommets, replaced distribution gaskets, installed new internal packing, safety deck, drift eliminators, and access hatch gaskets.
The full refurbishment will result in the cooling tower being in service for many years to come and working at optimum efficiency.
